Sweaters and jackets
Lie haphazardly
Abandoned by a gust of children
Who blew across the playground
A whirlwind of careless laughter
Leaving behind splashes
of green/orange/blue/pink/yellow/red
cheetah spot and zebra stripe
in fleece and satin.
The arms stretch and twist
around mittens and hats
Supplicants wanting only to hold
Their children again.
I so liked the comment you left on Jenn@Juggling Life's post about how motherhood felt when we first experienced it that I had to come visit. Now that I see your clever blog title and read this first post--it captures familiar images--I'm awfully glad I came. I'll be back!
